Buyer Requirements:
We ask that our buyers do their research on the Siberian Husky breed. This breed of dog is not for everyone. They are active and inquisitive. They require lots of human interaction and do not do well when left alone for long periods of time. They WILL find ways to get your attention and not always in a pleasurable manner. There are many web sites on the internet that offer excellent information on the breed, check the AKC Breed Standard. There are also several books available.
We do not ship pet quality puppies under most circumstances. We do not take PayPal or Credit card purchases.
Buyers need a fenced yard that is secure and an area where your Siberian Husky can get adequate exercise.
We encourage our buyers to invest the time to take your puppy to obedience classes. This helps ensure that your dog learns the rules of being a family member. We also encourage our buyers to continually socialize their puppy to new environments, new people and other dogs.
We ask that our buyers keep in contact with us. We love updates on how our puppies have grown up. We encourage you to call us if you ever have questions about your dog or it's family history. This also helps us in our breeding program.
All buyers are required to complete an application before purchasing a Siberian Husky from Bralin Siberians. This is done so that the right match can be made and our dogs can live a long, healthy and happy life. We do not just sell to anyone or over the internet, there will be an interview and screening process for each applicant. Pet quality puppies are sold with a spay/neuter agreement contract and an AKC Limited Registration.
Our website is for education and showcasing our dogs and our hobby, not as a business or just to sell dogs or puppies.
Our puppy selection process:
Puppy rearing:
Our puppies are always raised in our home. We have dew claws removed at approximately 3 days old. We also begin using neurological stimulation techniques at that age, to stimulate brain activity and enhance senses, a proven technique outlined at www.breedingbetterdogs.com. Socializing puppies is an important aspect of creating a well rounded dog. We socialize our puppies as much as possible with people they don't know and dogs outside of their family unit. Our puppies are weaned onto Puppy Eukanuba at the appropriate age. They are released to their new homes on an individual basis depending on how they are doing, their litter size, when they start to eat on their own, and lastly how they react to their puppy shots. Generally, puppies go home between 9 to 10 weeks. This is only if the puppy is completely ready to go and the environment where the puppy is going is a safe and secure one. Occasionally we have an older puppy available. These puppies usually have a better defined temperament and adjust very well to new environments.
Vaccinations:
Our puppies receive an initial vaccination and veterinarian exam at 7 - 8 weeks old. We give shots at 7-8 weeks, 11-12 weeks and 15-16 weeks. After a pup is a year old, it requires an annual booster. Our puppies are wormed several times prior to going to a new home. We typically worm our puppies at 3, 6 and 9 weeks. We use Revolution, a once-a-month application, to control Heartworm and external parasites during the spring to fall months. Depending on the time of year, we start our pups at 8 weeks on this medication.
Health/Temperament Guarantee:
We guarantee all puppies to be healthy when they leave the kennel. If you receive a puppy from us and a health problem develops within 72 hours, you must contact us regarding the problem. We cannot be responsible for veterinary costs not approved prior to treatment. Should any dog sold by us develop any hereditary disease severe enough to warrant euthanasia, a replacement of the dog with one of similar quality shall be made after receipt of veterinary diagnosis of the disease and recommendation, along with proof of euthanasia.
Our dogs are guaranteed against Hip Dysplasia. OFA Evaluation (by an X-ray taken by a qualified veterinarian) must be done no sooner then 24 months. OFA grading of Excellent, Good, or Fair are considered acceptable. (Must be rated by OFA). Less then Fair will be replaced.
We guarantee all our dogs against hereditary eye diseases. Should a dog we sold develop a hereditary eye disease that causes blindness before the age of 9 years, we will replace it with one of equal or greater value.
Bralin guarantees your dog to be an excellent companion. If you are not 100% satisfied with his/her temperament (as described in the Breed Standard), please return your dog in healthy condition, within 1 month for a full refund. If your dog shows unprovoked aggression towards people, return your dog and we will replace him/her with another of equal or greater value.
All parents of our puppies are in superb health. We OFA certify (see Orthopedic Foundation of America web site) all of our dogs. All our dogs have their eyes cleared, free of eye defects, by a certified ophthalmologist annually. (see CERF (Canine Eye Foundation of America) web site)
Contracts/Agreements
All of our dogs and puppies are sold with sales agreements containing our expectations from you as a responsible dog owner and our health and temperament guarantee. To preserve the quality of our line and the Siberian Husky in general, all non-show quality puppies are sold on a spay/neuter agreement with AKC Limited Registration papers. Although a puppy may have Champion or show quality parents, not all puppies can pass on their parents' desirable traits.
