About Bralin Siberians

Sheri has been involved with Siberian Huskies since 1984. Bralin Siberians was based in Delaware Ohio until it was moved to Michigan in the spring of 1998. In Ohio, Sheri started out as a member of the Siberian Husky club of Central Ohio, The Siberian Husky Club of America and the Central Ohio Kennel Club, then later became a member of the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Cleveland. She and Doug have both been members of the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Detroit. She has held several offices with the former Siberian Husky Club of Central Ohio and is currently serving her second term on the Board of Directors of the Siberian Husky Club of America. Doug has been involved with purebred dogs since 1973. He has owned a variety of breeds including English Springer Spaniels and Boxers. Doug became a dog show superintendent with MB-F Inc. in 1984 and continued as a dog show superintendent until 1993. We met in 1995 and now share our love of Siberian Huskies. Doug is now very active in mushing, and participates in as many sledding events as possible during the winter months. Marisa was born in 1994 and has taken to the activities with the dogs just like the rest of her family and is active in both mushing and showing. You can see pictures of her with the dogs, in both of those activities, on this web site.

Our dogs are not only show dogs but are very loved members of our family. Our primary interest is in conformation showing but we are also very active in sled dog racing. Our goal is to produce quality puppies that have sound temperaments and conform to the AKC Standard for the breed. The AKC Standard defines the characteristics which make the Siberian able to perform the functions as it was originally bred.

Our breedings are carefully planned. We evaluate each animal and proposed breeding to retain or produce the proper attributes. We have gained much knowledge though the years of listening, observing and learning from long time breeders who are willing to give us advise. The learning process never ends, through reading, attending seminars, training classes and remaining involved with the breed and the wonderful friends we have made, we are always obtaining new knowledge. We feel it is our responsibility as a breeder to assist all new pet owners in raising their pups throughout the life of the dog. We feel personally responsible for each and every puppy we produce and try our best to match the personality of the puppy to his/her new owners. Both sire and dam of each litter are certified free of hip dysplasia and inherited eye abnormalities by the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA) and Canine Eye Registration Foundation of America (CERF).

We want you to be an informed and responsible pet owner and feel it to be our personal responsibility to place our puppies in the best possible homes. It is important to us that the puppies we place remain happy, healthy members of the family. We would be happy to help you decide if the Siberian Husky is the right breed for you.
